Both God and the devil wants our will so they can express their nature through us. God works from the inside to get our will. The Lord wants us to be expressions of Him on the earth.
First God connects with our spirit. Next, through the process of sanctification, He owns more and more of our hearts.
Finally, He expresses His nature through us. Some Christians are very consecrated and obedient to God while others hardly allow their Christianity to influence their lives at all.
Jesus modeled a life that fully represented Father God. He told Philip,
John 14:9
“He who has seen me has seen the Father”
IF OUR WILL IS NOT ENGAGED WE DO NOTHING Romans 6:16 AMPC
Do you not know that if you continually surrender yourselves to anyone to do his will, you are the slaves of him whom you obey, whether that be to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience which leads to righteousness (right standing with God)?
The devil works from the outside to try to get our will. He craves bodies through which he can manifest his evil nature. Just as there are different levels of Christian commitment, there are different levels of demonic influence, ranging from mild harassment to full possession.
The Gadarene demoniac was demon possessed (Mark 5:1–5; Luke 8:26–39). How did this happen?
First, the demonic realm made a connection. Then the man from Gadara owned the demonic influence as part of himself.
Finally, the demons freely expressed their personalities through him.
BOTH GOD AND THE DEVIL WANTS OUR WILL Both God and the devil want to express themselves through us and accomplish their plans and purposes on earth. Jesus set the example for us during His earth walk when He lived as the representative of His heavenly Father. He expressed the will of Father God perfectly in the life that He lived, the words that He spoke, the deeds that He did, and the death that He died.
John 14:24
The word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. John 5:19
Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. God’s nature is love and He desires to bring redemption to humankind on earth. God has a divine plan, but He works through people to implement His will.
Jesus finished the assignment given Him by His Father (see John 17:4), and He Himself became a Father to a new race of men & woman —born-again believers.
In turn, the Lord has appointed righteous deeds for us to do in the power of His grace. God’s will is always perfectly expressed in heaven as a flow of divine purpose.
When we yield our will to the will of God, He releases heaven on earth through us. Therefore, the work begun by Jesus is carried on through believers today…………through you and me.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
YIELDING OUR WILL TO GOD RELEASES HEAVEN ON EARTH The devil’s nature is marked by fear and hatred, and he wants to bring destruction and death to us. He takes people captive to fulfil his evil plans on earth.
Paul exhorts Timothy to correct those who have been caught in “the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will” (2 Tim. 2:26). FREE WILL
Many individuals have a serious misconception about the meaning of “free will.” Our will is not an independent agent.
We have a free will only to the extent that we can choose to obey one of two laws—the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, or the law of sin and death (see Rom. 8:2).
Our will does not have the option to be “neutral” or uncommitted.
The Scriptures say we become the slave “of the one we obey” (see Rom. 6:16 NIV). We serve God and do His will, or we serve the devil to do his will.
Have you ever wondered why certain people choose to destroy their lives with drugs or alcohol? Despite all evidence to the contrary, they will insist they are doing it because they want to! They are actually being controlled by “the prince of the power of the air” (Eph. 2:2).
The only thing truly in our control is how much of us God owns or how much the devil owns.
Ephesians 2:2-3
You once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
Thoughts prompt us.
Emotions motivate us.
Our will generates behavior. A certain disciple of Jesus named Dorcas was commended for doing the will of God expressed in many “good works and charitable deeds” (see Acts 9:36).
When she passed away suddenly, the believers called for Peter, weeping and showing him all the tunics and garments she had made for them. Peter was so moved that he prayed for her to be raised from the dead—and she was! Dorcas expressed the love of God in good deeds. Enoch became so radically possessed by God that the earth could not hold him and God took him up to heaven (see Gen. 5:24). Hebrews 11:5 AMPC
Because of faith Enoch was caught up and transferred to heaven, so that he did not have a glimpse of death; and he was not found, because God had translated him. For even before he was taken to heaven, he received testimony [still on record] that he had pleased and been satisfactory to God.
The Lord has launched a new season (decade) of breakthrough and promotion for His children. If there would ever be a time to jump into the current of His Spirit it would be now!
Don’t hold back on your surrendering, don’t hold on to past mistakes and toxic emotions………release yourself to flow into His perfect will for your life and witness a true awakening of His image and likeness which will result in an authentic harvest.
Blessings
Didier
