What? Does pressure and resistance in life have benefits??
Impossible some may say. It is true, pressure and resistance has significant benefits for us as people of God.
James 1:2-4 NLT
[2] Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. [3] For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. [4] So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
From the above scripture we clearly see that the pressure troubled times puts on us releases the power that we carry inside of us. This is the only time our faith really finds the opportunity to grow strong in the truth of God’s Word.
When troubled times arrive in our lives we need to trust God in the middle of our storm, in the middle of bad news being delivered to us and the devastating circumstances we may encounter in life form time to time. No one is exempt from challenging times in life.
When storms hit our lives the Bible make it clear what our response should be;
Colossians 2:6-7 NLT
[6] And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. [7] Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
We need to immediately ensure that the frequency of our spirit is set and adjusted to the truth of God’s Word. Allow the great "amens" that erupted from excitement in church be acted on in deed in the circumstance that’s not in line with God’s purpose for your life.
The wrong frequency to be adjusted to in troubling times is found in;
Colossians 2:8 NLT
[8] Don't let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.
No one wants to tap into high sounding nonsense in life....that would result in devastation.
So press into the right frequency. The frequency of Christ, the anointed One and His anointing.
Colossians 2:9-10 NLT
[9] For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. [10] So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.
Use all the tools at your disposal to do so and be connected to the vine and draw in the sap of life into your being.
Pray in the Spirit
Listen to the Word
Read the Word
Confess the Word
Put on your armour according to Ephesians 6
Apply and speak the Word. Use the Word.
Apply your faith and jump into action according to your faith
I know that some will say that I don’t understand your reality. The mess you find yourself in, the lack that abounds in your natural circumstances around you.
Listen, start were you are. What do you have? Prayer, the Word, past victories....take whatever you have and put your confidence back into position.
Our reality is not found in the circumstances around us but in Christ, The anointed One and His anointing.
Colossians 2:17 NLT
[17] For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that reality.
The big question we all need to answer for ourselves is; what blocks Christ’s reality to be reflected and exposed in my life?
There may be a number of things;
lack of commitment to bend ourselves over to the ways of God
Unbelief
Cynicism
Sin
Greed
Selfishness
Un forgiveness
Wrong relationships
These are only a few.....there are many reason why we may not experience the flow of Christ in our lives.
Be intentional. Clothe yourself with the promises and intentions of God every morning and expect the good and prosperous plan of God to unfold in your life.....and it will.
One of our greatest weapons against the forces of darkness is thankfulness. Thankfulness gets us back into the flow of God’s anointing in Christ.
Colossians 3:12-15 NLT
[12] Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. [13] Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. [14] Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. [15] And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
Create glory developing mode momentum by embracing and acting on what the Lord declares over your life.
Be blessed...
Much love
